Glad to see this

A roundup of good news coming out of Afghanistan. I'm glad to see the country's political, social and economic systems coming together after years of war and the Taliban - and I'm glad that I can say that I had something to do with it, in a small way. I hope, too, that the drought has finally broken.

Of course, I also note the author's other point, which is the lack of any media coverage for current positive situation there. Three years from now, I suspect that the media will be ignoring Iraq and complaining about US mis-steps somewhere else entirely.
