The USS William J Clinton
A lot has been made of the Navy's recent commissioning of the attack sub USS Jimmy Carter (the day by day cartoon is priceless.)
However, it makes some kind of sense to name a sub after Carter - he did serve as a submariner for a number of years, and, who knows? - maybe he was a better submarine officer than he was a president. After all, the navy is going to name an aircraft carrier after George Bush (41), who was a naval aviator in WWII.
With that in mind, I understand that the Navy has announced its plans to build and commission a new ship, the USS William J Clinton, in honor of our 42nd president - the type of ship is, of course, a heavy cruiser.
